Neem Oil

S C E N T  P R O F I L E

Earlier this year we released the Lavender & Neem Oil fragrance, a unique blend specially created by us at The Master Herbalist and Simply Drawer Liners. A natural moth repellent, this scent has been very popular in our drawer liners and wardrobe fresheners so we’re here to delve deeper into one of its core ingredients: Neem Oil.

Neem Essential Oil is pressed from the fruits and seeds of the Neem Tree (Azadirachta indica), also known as Indian Lilac, and is indigenous to the Indian subcontinent, whilst also found in other tropical regions. It is a fast-growing, large-leafed tree that boasts beautiful and sweetly fragrant flowers during the summer months.

Neem Oil has a long history of being used in Chinese and Ayurvedic medicine, and has been said to treat numerous conditions such as acne, skin infections and many more. Its uses, however, don’t stop there. In the house and/or garden, Neem Oil is celebrated as a very powerful pesticide that can kill and repel a large amount of harmful insects including ants, cockroaches, mosquitoes and, of course, moths.

Here at The Master Herbalist and Simply Drawer Liners, we use Neem Oil in our products as a natural, organic and biodegradable moth repellent. Whilst it normally produces a strong and nutty aroma by itself, our fragrance combines the oil with delicate English Lavender for a rich, predominantly floral, fresh scent that is far more pleasant than chemical moth balls.

We currently have our Lavender and Neem Oil scented drawer liners in four patterns: Japanese Pen, Grey Geometric Print, William Morris inspired Willow and a Classical Heron print. Also not forgetting our wardrobe fresheners in the Willow and Geometric designs. Whether you prefer an elegant, subtle finish or a more striking pop of colour, our Lavender and Neem Oil range will be perfect for you - looks good, smells great and keeps the moths away.
