Returns, Refunds Replacements & General Queries
I received the wrong item!
We are very sorry. We are human and whilst our warehouse team do their best, they do make the occasional error.
Please contact us HERE or at support@themasterherbalist.co.uk, include your original order number e.g. TMH#1234 and the email address used for purchase and we will arrange for the correct items to be sent out asap.
To help avoid confusion if you can include a photo of the item received it would be very helpful (however we understand this is a faff from a desktop).

We take this stance as we understand items may not be needed, but return shipping is very expensive and we need to manage costs.

Product Information
Fragrance & Safety
What is in your fragrances?
Our fragrances are naturally derived but are not 100% natural, as they require assistance to ensure the fragrance retains its scent, adheres to the paper and does not discolour over time.
They are created by our specialist perfumer and comply with the EU 7th Amendment on allergens. This certifies that they do not contain any of the top 25 listed allergens associated with fragranced products.
We have also written a special blog post on this topic: What's in our fragrances.
How long does the scent last?
The scent is designed to last for approximately 6-12 months under normal conditions. After that, there will be a residual scent, not a strong one, but it will still look lovely!
This does vary significantly on the size of the space, if it is enclosed and your sense of smell.
We try and strike a balance between not overpowering on opening, but also providing value in the long term.
You may find the fragrance strong on opening however, this is deliberate to maximise longevity. If you find the fragrance too powerful, we suggest you unpack and separate the items to allow the fragrance to 'relax' in the open air for a few hours before placing in a drawer.
Our drawer liners can be easily recycled and replaced, or you can pop in a Wardrobe Freshener Sachet and bolster the fragrance for another 9 + months.
Are the scented liners safe for use with clothes and linens?
Yes, our scented liners are safe for use with clothes and linens. The fragrance is designed to be gentle and not stain or damage fabric.
Do your fragrances contain Phthalates?
Our Sandalwood and Lily of the Valley fragrances do, in trace amounts. The rest of our fragrances do not.
Scented Drawer Liners
What size are your drawer liners?
Our drawer liners are 60cm x 42cm or 23.6" x 16.5". They are limited to this size, due to the machinery used for printing and scenting and are designed to be economical to ship. They can however, be easily doubled up and overlaid to fill larger spaces as they have seamless pattern repeats.
They can also be cut to size to reduce their size.
Can the liners be trimmed to size?
Yes, they are easy to cut with scissors or fold to fit drawers and shelves of various sizes. Our preferred method is to turn the liners upside down, lay in a drawer and crease the edges accordingly. Then you can turn the liner over and have an accurate folding line. Cutting with a guillotine is probably the ideal - but I don’t have one in my house! Scissors, or a knife, ruler and cutting board do just as well.
Are your drawer liners adhesive / sticky backed?
No, they are not adhesive. The scented liners are unsealed paper. For our wipe-clean liners, the top is sealed with a gloss laminate varnish, but the underside is paper.
How do I fit your drawer liners in my drawers?
If the liner is too large, we suggest folding it to ensure a straight, clean edge, as opposed to using scissors. Be careful not to run your nails along the fold, as this can cause the paper to ruffle. If you have a paper guillotine, that will provide the best results.
If you need to double up the liners for a larger surface, the patterns are designed to repeat perfectly, allowing you to create a nice, hard-to-spot seam when overlaying them.
Is the paper acid free ?
No, our printing is done on FSC certified paper, but we have to assume some acidity is involved in the printing process. However, our products have lain in many old dresser of ours with no perceived effects, certainly nothing like they yellowing of newspaper etc. which are more acidic paper stocks.
How do I fix down your drawer liners?
If they fit snugly, you may not need to fix them down, depending on the drawer size and surface. If you do need to secure them, we suggest a few options. A small loop of sticky/double-sided tape, or thin photo tabs work well. Alternatively, we offer a product called 'Sticky Dots' - available on our website - that are designed for this purpose and are tried and true with returning customers. We recommend you do not use Blu Tack as the oil from the liner can seep through the paper and cause a stain.
Do you do a continuous roll of your drawer liners?
No, we do not offer continuous rolls. This is not possible due to the weight of the paper and the manufacturing process.
Are your products recyclable?
Our Scented Drawer Liners are recyclable, as is the box they come in.
All paper and board packaging is recyclable.
The Wardrobe Freshener paper and hook is recyclable. The pouch can be discarded in the normal waste or opened and scattered in the garden (it is vermiculite impregnated with fragrance oils). See here. We suggest you don't plant new plants into this as it has had fragrance oils on and some ingredients may not suit seedlings.
Wipe Clean Drawer Liners are not recyclable, as they contain a laminate finish.
For our scented products the plastic sleeve is Category 5 plastics and recyclable in some areas, but widely not in general household recycling. We have investigated other options at length but the viable “recyclable plastics,” require a serious home digesting plant to actually biodegrade and research suggests that to a large degree, these plastics are just as unmanageable in a domestic setting as normal ones. We need a moisture resistant and fragrance retaining barrier to protect the fragrance and the paper, so for the moment this is the best we can do.
We have worked hard to reduce packaging, removing the plastic packaging from our Wipe Clean liners and replacing this with paper banding. We have also reduced our use of plastic tape now opting for paper.
Wipe Clean Drawer Liners
Are the Wipe Clean Drawer Liners scented?
No, these liners are unscented, making them suitable for people sensitive to fragrances.
Are they suitable for kitchen use?
They are ideal for kitchen drawers, cupboards and pan shelves due to their wipeable and water-resistant surface. We DO NOT recommend using them in the fridge as the underside is paper and any wet surfacing lying underneath liners will damage them.
Can I use your wipe clean drawer liners in the fridge?
We suggest not. The paper is laminated on the top but the base is paper and will absorb moisture over time.
Are these wipeable drawer liners safe for use with food items?
While the liners are durable and easy to clean, they are not specifically designed for direct food contact. The laminate used on the product is of food grade safety, but the manufacturing process and supply chain is not food grade certified. Use them to organise and protect surfaces where food is stored in containers or packaging.
Wardrobe Fresheners
What is in your Wardrobe Fresheners?
Our Wardrobe Fresheners are made using the same scented paper as our drawer liner stock. Inside each is a scented vermiculite pouch that is compostable and biodegradable. They have a cardboard hanger. The paper content can be recycled and the Vermiculite can be used in the garden or put in the black bin.
