A scented drawer liner is a sheet of fragranced paper that lines a drawer or shelf. It protects the wood, and it lightly scents whatever you keep on it. They are simple things, but they are not all alike. Here is what to look for.
The short answer
Choose a liner that is printed on proper paper, scented all the way through, sized so one sheet covers a drawer, and in a fragrance you would be glad to wear. Everything below explains why.
1. The paper
A good liner is paper, not plastic. It lies flat, cuts cleanly with scissors and lets the scent through. Ours are printed on FSC-certified paper and are not sticky-backed, so they lift out without marking the drawer.

2. The scent
Pick the fragrance as you would a soap or a candle: something you like on yourself, because your clothes will carry a little of it.

A liner should scent a drawer, not a room. If you are sensitive to fragrance, start with one drawer.
3. How long it lasts
Ask how long the scent lasts, and expect a straight answer. Ours last 9 to 12 months in a closed drawer. A drawer that is opened many times a day, or a liner left on an open shelf, will fade sooner.
4. The size
Measure your drawer before you buy. Our sheets are 60 x 42 cm, five to a pack, which covers most chests of drawers with a sheet to spare. For a deeper or wider drawer, overlap two sheets; the patterns are printed to repeat, so the join does not show.
5. The design
You will see the liner every time you open the drawer, so choose one you like. We print William Morris-inspired designs, gingham, geometric, heron and traditional floral patterns.
How to fit them
- Empty the drawer and wipe it clean and dry.
- Lay the sheet in upside down and crease it along the edges.
- Turn it over and fold or cut along the creases.
- Lay it flat and put your clothes back.

Questions
Are scented drawer liners safe for clothes?
Yes. They are made to line drawers of clothing, towels and bed linen, and will not stain fabric.
Can I use them in a wardrobe?
Yes, on shelves. For hanging clothes, a wardrobe freshener does the same job.
How often should I replace them?
When the scent has faded: for our liners, after 9 to 12 months.
